WELCOME

We live in Jefferson, South Carolina, actually closer to Pageland. Our house borders Lake Terry - a small secluded lake which is Pageland's water source. We got married on June 1, 2002 (pictures below) and previously lived (and Vickey still works) in Charlotte, NC. The commute is long, but it's certainly not as hectic as doing the interstate commute in Charlotte! Paul retired at the end of August 2003, so his commute is real short - out to his workshop for his business - Sandhill Creations (link on left )! But he has in the last couple years taken a part time job at Woodcraft near Charlotte so has a long commute himself, at least a couple times a week.

And even after living here for about 7 years, we're still unpacking!, but so far love it! Pageland's big claim to fame is the Watermelon Festival. We have attended the festivals and always have a great time!!

Our family is growing all the time. Jim and Julie (Paul's daughter) have 4 children, Emily, Anna, Katelyn and Joshua. Valerie and Doug (Paul's son) have just had their second child, Mya to join big sister Jillian. All the grandkids are beautiful, bright, good natured, mild mannered but like all kids sometime probably need a little whuppin' now and then. But they are great grandkids!!! Both Paul's kids (and of course grandkids) all live in the Kansas City area. We love 'em all, just don't like that we're all so far apart.

PAUL's Interests

Barbershop Singing: Member of Gold Standard Chorus , singing Baritone (and sometimes Bass) and being an assistant director. Paul's current quartet is Dixie Gold, and for pictures of his previous quartet see Old Bar None Quartet

Amateur Radio: Call sign N4YYN.

Woodworking: Only recently have found a love of woodworking and have recently started a company - Sandhill Creations (click link at left) - to take advantage of it. With retirement, I'm too busy to make the business a big money-maker - but it IS fun!!

Gardening: We have some flower gardens and a few veggies.... Just don't have the time for much more...

Fishing: Lake Terry DOES have bass....!
And we have even seen Beaver, Deer, and Fox around the lake!

Sailing: Joint owner of a 25' Hunter sloop on Lake Norman, but looking to sell. Again, who has the time??

Model Railroading: Hopefully will find room in the house (and time) some day for another layout.

VICKEY's Interests

Barbershop Singing: Member of the Queen Charlotte Chorus , singing Baritone and assistant director. Also she is baritone in Finders Keepers quartet (link at left).

Painting: Mostly in High School but looking to set up a painting area in the house, someday..

Fishing: Yup - Lake Terry has bass!

Arts and Crafts: Not much time for this right now, but as part of Paul's new business, I do all the stained glass pieces (click on Sandhill Creations on left and follow Glass links)

Crocheting: Not much time for this either.....

Flower Arranging: I did almost all the arrangements for the wedding and still occasionally do one..

Cake Decorating: But my sister Candy did the *outstanding* cakes for our wedding.

Travel: I love our national parks!

Photography: Lighthouses are especially nice!

And we both love to dance, ballroom style:
- waltz, foxtrot, swing, cha-cha, rumba, tango, bolero, etc....
